Went to a party tonight. I haven't been doing well at parties lately for some reason.
This was a birthday party for my friend Mindy, whom I've had a great big crush on ever since college and whom I lost track of for years and whom I'm thrilled to have back in my life -- she's warm and bright and friendly and happy and simply fabulous.

I probably could have seen the Leonids well enough from my courtyard, but it seemed important to me to go out and drive to the best vantage point I could think of, which was Gasworks Park's Kite Hill, the hill that has the analemmatic sundial at the top.
